Norcold won't start...

My Norcold N621 won't start.... I've cleaned the burner and jet.. I have ignition...and gas supply.... I can light it manually...runs long enough to bring it to desired temp...when it reaches set temp.. it shuts off as it should..then the "F" trouble code shows and will not relight on it's own.. Anyone out there have this problem before. I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow.. Any help would be appreciated..:) Thank You.. Ken

RE: I NEED SOME INPUT ON THE FORD V-10

5) The IAC valve(Idle air control) likes to fail at the worst time. Some guys buy one from Ford and carry it with them cause it's right on top of the engine and easy to change. Might save your trip and a tow. T18skyguy Just curious....(a) When the IAC valve fails....what happens to the engine..just an idle problem..or does the engine stop completely? (b)where is it located.... I have 60K and it's 9 years old....maybe I should carry a spare...that way it will never fail ..:B Thank you for the information.... Ken

RE: Carbon In Tailpipe

woolfy. It's probably rust ...LOL...have you added any oil? At 3000 miles I doubt very much that you have a problem. If you think you do...take it to your Ford dealer to check it out.. I have a V10 with 60000 miles on it..and it never requires topping up between 3000 mile oil changes...and my previous Ford MH with a 460 and 100000 miles never needed topping up either. Use it and have fun!! Ken

Another Ford cruise control recall!!

Ford recalls vehicles a second time Automaker to notify dealers, customers Automotive News January 31, 2008 - 1:20 pm ET UPDATED: 1/31/08 4:19 p.m. EST DETROIT -- Ford Motor Co. began notifying Ford and LincolnMercury dealers this week of a safety recall covering about 225,000 vehicles that were previously recalled for improper wire harnesses. "The action we are taking does deal with a new issue related to a previous recall," said Ford spokeswoman Jennifer Moore. The newly recalled vehicles are among 10.4 million cars and trucks Ford previously had recalled in stages since 1999 because a cruise control switch was found to pose a fire hazard -- even when vehicles were parked and turned off. In some cases, homes were destroyed when vehicles burned in attached garages. The original repair involved installation of a wiring harness around the cruise control switch. Ford found that the harness did not function properly in this subset of 225,000 vehicles, now being recalled a second time, company spokesmen told Automotive News. Ford plans to notify the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that wiring harnesses installed on eight models built in years varying between 1992 and 2003 are not compatible with the current circuit polarity. The harnesses have an improperly placed fuse. The placement does not offer enough protection if there is an electrical short circuit, according to the dealer alert. In a letter sent Tuesday, Jan. 29, to dealers, Ford said it does not intend to notify owners of the recall until NHTSA has been informed and dealers receive service repair information. " All customers have an available interim action that eliminates any risk if the part is not available for their vehicle," Moore said in a statement. Ford expects to begin owner notification by mid-February. Dealers can expect to receive the service bulletin next week. These models make up the list of vehicles to be recalled by Ford: -- 1992-2003 Econoline* -- 1992-98 Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis -- 1993 Bronco -- 1995-97 F-series stripped chassis* -- 1993-95 Taurus SHO -- 1992-95 Town Car -- 1993 F series* *Indicates gasoline engines only

RE: V-10 spark plug fix/Ford approved

I have a 1999 V10 in a E450.. I read about the problem and replaced my plugs in 2006 at 48000 miles. The old plugs were tight...I installed the new type plug and torqued to recommended specs. I think the main problem with the plugs coming out was they were not tight when originally installed. I have had other engines with "short reach" plugs. and never had problems.. However, I do feel better going down the road knowing they are tight now!! It took me about one hour to install 8..and another two hours to install the last two.! :B Ken

RE: hot passenger floor on ford e450

Anyone with a late 80s, early 90s E350 chassis have this problem? I'd like to know before I venture out on a 9000 mile trip (we will take a couple practice trips though). I am replacing the forward cab carpet now... and my wife WILL complain if the floor is hot.... BTW, I am putting heavy jute under the carpet already, but not foil backed. Id favor putting something underneath the floorboard anyway... I had a 1987 E 350 and NO problem...I loved that 460 engine too... However, my 1999 E 450 was r e a l l y hot...more so on the right side.. Have a GREAT trip... Ken

RE: engine wash E-450

I NEVER power wash my engines....Water gets into wiring harnesses connections and other places and causes corrosion and can cause unnecessary grief when least expected.;) Ken

Just so you know, the original poster is from London Ontario. Our electricity supplier used to be called Ontario Hydro. So all our electric bills were called hydro bills. The name has recently been changed to "Hydro One"! Now you've made it more confusing...EH. !!:? :B Ken.
